OSCAR LYSEYKO
In Memory of Oscar Lyseyko, who passed away on February 1, 2026, with his wife Stephanie and youngest son Brian at his side and his elder son Mark and family on a video call. He did not pass over alone.
Oscar was born on January 7 in Brooklands – at that time, a small village just outside of the city limits of Winnipeg, Manitoba. He attended high school at Daniel McIntyre Collegiate Institute in Brooklands, obtained a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Manitoba in 1953 and apprenticed in pharmacy at Broadway Pharmacy in Winnipeg. Oscar worked at several pharmacies in Winnipeg until 1955 when he joined Eli Lilly Company and remained stationed in Winnipeg. In 1960 he joined Hoffman La Roche Pharmaceuticals and, based out of Winnipeg, he covered North Western Ontario, from Kenora to Fort William and Port Arthur. Later in the same year Oscar married Stephanie (Bilinsky) and they moved to Vancouver soon after.
Retiring from the pharmaceutical industry in 1975, Oscar wrote the BC Real Estate exam and become a Real Estate Agent. He continued to work and maintained his real estate license into his late 70s.
Oscar loved the outdoors and especially the British Columbia lake country where he enjoyed many canoe and fishing trip with his sons Mark and Brian.
Oscar is predeceased by his mother (Anastazia), father (Michael) and his older brother Harold.
Oscar is survived by his loving wife of over 65 years, Stephanie, his sons Mark and Brian, his daughter-in-law Shanthy and his grandson Ashwyn of St Albans, England, all of whom shall miss him dearly.
The family would like to thank the staff of both Vancouver Coast Care and Cedarview Lodge in North Vancouver for the excellent care they provided Oscar over the years.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation (lghfoundation.com) or St Paul's Foundation (helpstpauls.com), both of which were very important to Oscar.
